Let’s make a wobbly reindeer from paper plates to help Santa deliver Christmas presents.

This paper plate craft is quite simple to make and more importantly it is extremely fun even once completed.

Once your child is done making this toy, because of its fun nature, you can use it as a toy during the holidays. Pair it with a Santa, snowman, or even a penguin shaking paper plate and it will be a lot of fun to play with.

Are you ready to start making reindeer? Let’s get started!

How to make a corrugated paper plate reindeer

What you need:

  • paper plate – one paper plate will make two swaying reindeer
  • brown paint
  • big round eyes
  • red pom pom
  • paint brush
  • dark brown construction paper
  • glue
  • drag

If you don’t like bulging eyes, vibrating eye patches are a great alternative.

You can also use a black marker if you want to draw a mouth on the reindeer.

Follow the step-by-step instructions

Paint the paper plate with brown paint.

Fold in half to cut straight.

Cut the paper plate in half.

Fold into a cone. Unfold and glue one end.

Fold back into a cone again.

Hold firmly to let the glue set (I used clothespins to hold it in place so I could move on to the next step). Older kids can use a stapler.

Glue two bulging eyes and a red cotton ball for a nose.

Cut deer antlers out of brown cardstock.

Glue antlers to your crepe paper plate reindeer.

Now ready to rock!
