It’s time to show off some new string art for the summer months – today we’re showing you how to make simple sailboat string art for kids and beginners.
We use yarn for these simple projects because it is easier to use for younger children, if you are doing this project with older children you can just use a regular string.

I love string art decorations, and since it’s so easy to make, you can have a new decoration every month (or every season).

What you need:
- 5 different yarn colors

- Red heart in black
- Red Heart in the Dark (Blue)
- Hammer and nail
- Steel Nail (18 x 3/4″)
- Pencil
- Drag
- Wood panel measures approximately 8″ x 9″ x 3/4″
Instructions: Lightly sketch a sailboat onto a wooden board with a pencil.
Notice the order we created them: That’s because we didn’t sketch all the shapes. We only sketched the top and sides of the boat, not the part that’s in the water. Same goes for the sail.
