Which reindeer is your favorite? It’s definitely Rudolph! That’s why we love these salt dough red-nosed reindeer ornaments!
This is a fun and easy Christmas craft for kids and makes a great gift.
Have you got your little feet ready? This is the perfect keepsake to make from a baby’s feet and something older kids can do themselves.
Salt dough reindeer ornaments
Raw materials
- Salt dough (you can see the recipe we used here)
- Non-toxic craft paint
- Brush
- 2 pine branches
- School glue
- Wax Paper
Instruct
Roll the salt dough into a ball. Flatten until about 3/4 inch thick.
Press baby’s foot down to make an imprint.
Cut along the edges leaving a border and remove excess dough.
Place on wax paper and microwave for 15 seconds, repeat.
Continue kneading for 20 seconds until dough is dry and firm.
Allow to cool completely before painting.
Paint your reindeer:
Use light brown to paint the entire footprint, let dry.
Use dark brown to paint the footprints (toes, heels, etc.) as shown in the picture.
Paint eyes and nose, let dry.
Glue pine branches to the back of the reindeer to create antlers (you can use real or faux antlers – I recommend faux antlers if you want to keep this decoration longer).
