These seashell turtles are super easy to make and you can even turn them into fridge magnets like this crab shell magnet.

If you have a seaside vacation with your kids, I am sure you will come home with a large amount of empty seashells of all kinds that the kids have collected.

Now they are really beautiful, and collecting empty seashells that wash up on the beach is definitely a fun activity for kids but… What to do with all those shells when you get home?

Handmade!

You can turn seashells into great crafts for kids.

This way you will turn the shells into lovely objects that children can play with, give to friends or relatives. It is definitely better than letting them collect dust.

Ready to get creative? Let’s make this seashell craft!

How to make crafts from sea turtle shells

What you need:

  • shell
  • green construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • glue
  • green paint
  • drag
  • paint brush

Place the shell on green cardboard and draw a head sticking out from the top, 2 arms sticking out from the top, 2 legs sticking out from the bottom and a tail sticking out from the back. Move the shell and connect the head, arms, legs and tail.

Cut the turtle body out and set aside.

Using a brush and green paint, paint the top of each shell green and let dry.

Glue the green turtle shell to the turtle body.

Glue two bulging eyes onto the turtle’s head.

Cut out some small trapezoids and hexagons and glue them to the top of the turtle shell.
