Do you have an old shoe (or two) and don’t want to throw it away? Turn it into a gorgeous shoe flower pot!
I’m holding on to an old pair of shoes because I know the time will come when I have the right shoe craft idea!
Let’s make a shoe flower pot
You will need;
- an old shoe (high heels are awesome)
- yellow acrylic spray bottle
- planting land
- Plants that don’t need much watering and don’t grow many roots (succulents grow best)
As you usually do, I originally had two red shoes and wanted to make two flower pots… But I don’t know how that happened, one shoe disappeared (I suspect it was the dog). So there is a pot!
We’ll start by cleaning the shoes to remove any dirt they may have accumulated over time (these babies, ah baby, have been waiting quite a few years).
Take the shoes outside or in a well-ventilated area and spray the paint evenly from all sides (including the inside). Let it dry.
You can stick a few small pieces of wood or rocks inside the shoe – this will keep the soil in place.
Fill half of it with potting soil. Start planting and add soil as you go.
You will need to be a little careful with this shoe flower pot for a while, until the soil “hardens” a bit and the roots become stronger.
