What a fun and personal project for kids to make.
You can make this sunflower craft more personal by adding a photo of a child in the middle.
What you need:
Start with yellow construction paper.
Have your child place his hand on the paper and use a pencil to draw around his hand.
You can stack multiple sheets of paper on top of each other and cut out multiple handprints at once, or let your child draw their hands on multiple sheets of paper.
Let your child show off his cutting skills!
You will need a few handprints to make a sunflower.
Ask the children to glue the handprints together in the palm area, overlapping each other to form sunflower petals.
Then, cut a circle from brown construction paper.
You can also have your child use scissors to cut around the circle to make the sunflower bigger.
All the way around.
Then, fold the cut edge of the circle inwards, folding each flap in turn to form the inside of the sunflower.
Have children glue a circle in the middle of the sunflower petal with their handprint.
Paint a large craft stick with green paint. Once dry, glue it to the back of the sunflower to form the stem.
Add a pair of leaves cut from construction paper.
Glue the leaves to the back of the craft stick and your handprint sunflower is complete!
What a great fall craft.
A beautiful handprinted sunflower will look impressive on a bulletin board.
Wishing you successful manufacturing.
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
