These flowers made with a printable template, watercolors and a few tassels would also make a cute Mother’s Day gift made by kids.

If you need a simple and fun flower craft idea then these cute flowers with pom poms to add some texture to them are the way to go! Your kids can make these flowers themselves or you can use our flower craft printable template to quickly make a bouquet.
This idea could also easily be turned into an art project, as there are so many possibilities for how the project can be done.
There are lots of arts and crafts materials you can provide for kids to design their own flowers, making this a great classroom craft activity (preschoolers and kindergarteners will love this, as will school-age children) – we’ll share some of our ideas in the tutorial.
Why just make one flower? Make a whole bouquet as they make a great gift for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, birthdays or any other day you feel someone would be happy to receive a beautiful floral creation.

How to make cute flower crafts for kids
What you need
- our flower craft printable template (you can get it at the end of this tutorial)
- printer
- heavier paper
- watercolor
- watercolor brush
- yellow pom poms (our usual place to go is ebay because they sell them in bulk)
- green paper straws
- glue
- transparent tape
How to turn this into an art activity? Provide a variety of coloring materials (crayons, puffy paint, markers, etc.) and a variety of other materials (yarn, tissue paper, scrap paper, fabric). Ask each child to design their own flower in any way they see fit (and in any color).

Or follow this step-by-step tutorial to make a sweet flower craft
Print our template on thicker printer paper (especially if you’re using watercolors). Regular paper will also work if kids are using crayons or colored pencils.
The template is at the end of this tutorial.
Color the flowers.
We love coloring with watercolors so this is our coloring medium of choice.
Let the color dry a bit before continuing.
Cut out the flowers.
Apply a sufficient amount of glue onto the flower plate.
White school glue works great, but we’ve also tried glue sticks and they work pretty well too.
Place yellow pom poms on the flower plate.
Once you have them all in there, press them down with the palm of your hand so the glue really sticks to them. Let the glue dry.
Take a green paper straw. Cut a piece of clear tape.
Tape the paper straw to the back of the flower with clear tape.
Done, your beautiful handmade flower is ready to be given to someone special.
