Or follow this step-by-step folding guide
Cut the paper strips.
You will need 4 strips of paper for the body and 4 strips of paper for the head. Our strips are about the width of a “finger”. For the body, we cut the pink strips of paper to the length of the paper and for the head, we cut them to the width of a paper.
If you need to modify this craft for younger children, we recommend only making the head and using 2 wider strips of paper. Wider strips are easier for younger children to handle and because there is less gluing and cutting involved, they won’t be as distracted.
Fold the paper in half – no need to make a sharp crease, this just helps “find” the middle in the next step.
Take long strips.
Apply glue in the middle of one strip and glue the other strip on top at a right angle.
Glue another piece in between the first two pieces and then glue another piece perpendicular to that one.
Do the same with the short ones.
Now, take the two ends of the same pink paper strip, fold them into a circle and glue them together at the top.
Repeat with all the paper strips until you have a paper ball.
Make a ball with short and long strips of paper.
You have just completed the body and head of the pig.
Glue the small ball on top of the big ball. Let the glue dry.
Your paper pig craft is almost done!
Cut a circle out of pink paper for the snout.
Draw nostrils with black marker.
Glue the snout to the head of the paper pig.
Draw eyes or glue two vibrating eye patches (or glasses).
Cut two more strips of paper for the front legs.
Stick them on the pig.
Cut a tail and glue it to the back.
Cut out two ears and glue them to the top of the head.
Cut a circle as a base for the pig, this will help your paper pig stand up easier.
Cut out two legs and glue them to the base.
Glue the pig to the base.
