Wiggle and squiggly, but oh so cute! In this easy-to-follow tutorial, we’ll show you how to make a swirly paper jellyfish for kids.
This is a great classroom project (or craft to do at home) when your child is learning about ocean animals or especially about jellyfish.
This is a fun game and if you do it in the classroom it will make the most splendid display, especially if your students do them in a variety of colors.

While we provide a handy template for making this craft, you or your kids can also draw the parts they need (we have a handy jellyfish drawing guide on the site).
What you need:
Print the template – choose an easy-to-color black-and-white print or a full-color version.
Prepare blue cardstock for the sea and six strips of paper for tentacles (we chose pink and purple, but your child can choose any color!).
Have children cut off the jellyfish’s head.
Then, ask them to place the head on the top of the cardboard and trace the bottom of the head onto it.
This will make the next steps easier because they will know exactly where to stick the paper strips.
Apply glue above the wavy pencil line.
It’s time to start gluing the paper strips.
Have your child glue them next to each other.
Now, let them gently rotate the strip of paper.
Apply glue to the end of the strip.
And glue the end to the cardboard background. Hold it in place for a bit to let the glue set.
Have your child repeat the steps with other strips of paper.
Glue the jellyfish’s head!
The swirl jellyfish craft is completed!
