Rainbows are a fun theme for kids to make spring crafts with insects and flowers. We love making rainbow crafts because they provide a great opportunity for children to learn the order of the colors in the rainbow in a hands-on way.
What you need:
Print out the template and prepare a sheet of cardboard as a background. We chose blue to resemble the sky.
Have children cut out cloud shapes.
Place the cloud on the top of the cardboard and mark the bottom (line around the edge). This will make the next steps easier.
Apply glue above the pencil line.
You can ask children to follow the correct color order or just use random colors.
Start with the first strip of paper and glue it onto the cardboard. Add all the rest.
Have your child twist and roll the first strip of paper.
Apply a little glue at the end.
Press it down on the cardboard. You may have to hold it in place for a while, depending on the strength of the glue you use.
Have your child repeat the process with all the strips.
Glue on the cloud.
The swirly rainbow craft is complete!
