Or follow this step-by-step folding guide
Start by folding the orange origami paper in half diagonally to form a triangle – colored side out.
Fold in half again to mark the center of the triangle. Unfold into the previous triangle.
You can skip this step but it is very helpful for young children.
Take one folded layer of paper, grab the top of the triangle and fold it down towards the middle.
You will see a white square if you use origami paper.
Now fold the bottom corners of the triangle to the bottom middle of the triangle.
Fold and unfold.
Next, take the same corners of the triangle and fold them towards the top of the triangle.
When you fold both shapes together, you will see an orange square.
Next, and this is the final step in the corner bookmark base, you need to tuck the edges of the cover into the pocket.
You just created a corner bookmark.
Now let’s decorate!
Tiger corner bookmark decoration
Cut two ears out of orange paper.
Draw details with black marker.
Paste them into bookmarks.
Draw a tiger with a black marker.
Color them.
Use zigzag scissors to cut a jagged line (you can also use regular scissors, it just takes a little longer). Glue them inside the bookmark.
Glue two eyes (you can use stickers or cut eyes out of white paper and draw them). Cut out a snout and glue it to the bookmark.
Cut two fangs out of white paper and glue them inside the bookmark.
Almost there!
Last but not least because this step really adds personality to these tiger corner bookmarks – cut out the tongue and glue it inside the corner bookmark – on the bottom layer.
And there you have it, the tiger bookmark is ready to take a bite out of your favorite book!
