Fall and Halloween mark bat time! We love these little nocturnal creatures and have shared quite a few bat arts and crafts tutorials with you in the past.
We’ve shown you how to draw a bat, how to make a bat from paper strips (one of our favorite projects because it can also be used as a wreath), and a bat corner bookmark, among many other fun ideas.
Since toilet paper rolls are one of the most economical and versatile craft materials, we had to add these paper roll bats to our collection of toilet paper roll craft ideas.
What you need:
Start by painting the roll of paper black.
Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Fold the top down, on both sides, to form a dome shape (see next picture).
Press the top firmly to keep the shape (you can also add a little glue to keep everything in place).
Fold the black paper in half and cut out the wing shape.
Apply glue to the middle of the wing shape.
Glue the wings to the back of a black toilet paper roll. Looks pretty cool, right?
Draw two big eyes on white paper.
Cut them out.
Stick them to the toilet paper roll.
Alternatively, you can also use fake eyes or stickers.
Paint the mouth white (add two sharp teeth to make your toilet paper roll look more ferocious for Halloween).
Done!
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
