What could be better than an umbrella paper plate craft on a rainy day? This craft even has a bunch of little raindrops!
Since they need to be carefully threaded onto a thread, this is a great craft to practice your child’s fine motor skills!

Playing outside on a rainy day is fun (puddles are hard to resist no matter how old you are!) but when it’s pouring rain, accompanied by a cold, strong wind, staying indoors is definitely more appealing.
But you can still celebrate rain and raindrops by making an umbrella craft.
This handmade umbrella is made with paper plates but you can easily use cardboard to make it too.
What you need:
Cut off the bottom half of the plate and reserve it as a handle.
Cut the bottom of the larger plate in an upside down scallop shape to make the bottom of the umbrella.
Using a black marker, draw several straight lines from the top center of the cell, connecting each point at the bottom of the cell and outlining the outside of the cell.
Paint each part of the umbrella a different color and let dry.
Cut the bottom of the plate you set aside into an umbrella handle and glue it to the bottom middle of the umbrella.
Cut about 7 10 inch pieces of yarn and tie 4-5 blue beads to each strand, then double knot the bottom edge of each strand.
Turn the umbrella over and carefully glue each strand to the bottom points of the umbrella. You can use a glue gun or clear tape.
Your umbrella paper plate craft is complete!
