Since we love creating different agamographs, we couldn’t resist designing a new agamograph filled with love for you and your child to enjoy together.

Once again, it’s time to grab your markers (or other coloring supplies) and spread the love by making this Valentine’s Day agamograph.
This is a great project for the classroom on Valentine’s Day and the coloring and folding will keep your students or kids busy and entertained while doing it.
The beauty of making an agamograph is that you can see the two images change as you look at them from different angles. In this V-Day agamograph, you’ll see a bunch of hearts from one image and the word “LOVE” from the other.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, this wonderful Valentine’s Day craft would make a great gift for family members, friends or others!
How to Make an Agamograph for Valentine’s Day
What you need:
- one of our Valentine’s Day agamograph templates (get it at the end of the tutorial)
- thicker printing paper (we use 160 gsm white printing paper, but regular paper will work too)
- printer
- coloring materials
- drag
- optional scoring tool (we like to use our skewers or just use something similar that is available)

Follow the step-by-step instructions
Start by choosing one of the templates – you can print out the one version, where you’ll color in alternating sections of the image, or choose the version with the entire image to cut and paste the agamograph together.
You can find the templates at the end of the tutorial.
We decided to color the pattern with green, red, pink and yellow markers to make the agamograph stand out beautifully.
Once you’ve finished coloring, use scissors to cut out the shape.
Score along the lines – we use a wooden stick to do this.
Fold the agamograph. Use the accordion technique and press firmly to create a crisp fold. A crisp fold is really important as it will make the agamograph better.
Continue folding all the agamograph sections.
Press until the end point is reached.
Now gently unfold your work.
And you’re done. Your Agamograph is ready to share with your loved ones.
