We love coming up with new and unique ideas for corner bookmarks, these are great and easy to make origami paper for kids and beginners as they don’t require much folding effort and are extremely easy to make.

Plus, since there are so many ways to decorate, kids will have fun making more and more!

With Halloween just around the corner, a spooky design has emerged – last year we created a bat and a cool cat design and a vampire (aka Count Dracula) is ready to join the ranks.

Of all the Halloween corner bookmarks, this is probably our favorite (right now).

These are easy enough for most preschoolers to make (depending on their fine motor skills), so they could be a great project for the classroom (older kids can do it with no problem) or would be a fun gift for teachers to give to their students (and vice versa).

Since they are so quick to make, they can also be a budget-friendly party favor for kids and kids-at-heart at your Halloween party.

Are you ready to fold your own Vampire Corner bookmark? Let’s get started!

How to fold a vampire corner bookmark

What you need:

  • a square sheet of paper (or origami paper) in a color that matches a vampire – light pink, purple, gray, blue, greenish gray, or any other suitable color
  • black paper
  • a blank sheet of paper
  • red paper
  • drag
  • glue
  • Wiggle eye patches / glasses / or 2 small circles cut out of white paper and a marker

Time to try this!

Follow these step-by-step instructions or watch the video tutorial at the end.

Take a sheet of origami paper or a regular paper. We use regular printer paper and cut it into squares.

Fold the square paper in half to form a triangle.

Fold one layer of the triangle from top to bottom (holding the top of the triangle tightly and folding towards the bottom center).

Fold the right corner to the middle of the triangle.

Do the same with the left side.

Open both.

Now fold the two corners towards the top.

You will get a square/diamond.

All that’s left to do is tuck those two corners into the pocket that formed when you folded them over the top.

Let’s decorate a vampire bookmark

Now it’s time to turn this ordinary corner bookmark into a vampire corner bookmark.

Cut off a corner of the black paper.

Cut in a “vampire haircut” style.

And stick it on top of your Halloween corner bookmark.

Fold the black paper in half and use a pencil to draw Vampire wings.

Cut off the wings.

Glue the wings to the back of the Dracula bookmark.

Glue the eyes.

Cut a square from red paper (this square should be smaller than the bookmark), apply glue and stick it inside the bookmark.

Cut out two fangs and glue them inside the bookmark.

There you go! You’ve created a scary vampire-looking bookmark.
