3D Turtles Paper Craft

Your kids can create the cutest little ocean scene with our fun 3D turtle paper crafts. This one combines coloring with cutting and pasting, so it’s a fun project. Not to mention, it’s perfect to make on hot summer days.

This is a fun little summer craft that can be done at home or at summer camp.

Turtle shells can come in all sorts of colors, the more colors, the better the final product looks.

How to make 3D turtle paper crafts

What you need:

Step-by-step instructions

Print out the 3D turtle craft paper model.

If you are using a black and white picture, let your child color it first.

Markers or crayons are perfect; If using markers, we recommend using cardstock to avoid wrinkling the paper.

Don’t forget to color the frame.

You can leave the pattern as is or you can cut it along the frame.

You can let your child color the circles for the turtle’s shell, but this is a tedious task. We recommend printing the circles on colored paper instead.

You can make all the seashells the same color, or you can print them out on a variety of different colored papers.

Regular or craft paper works well for circles.

You will need at least three circles per turtle, but you can also use more.

Fold each circle in half, forming a semicircle.

Apply glue along one half of one folded circle and glue another folded circle on it.

Repeat the process with the third one. This will create a small dome of turtle shell.

Repeat this process with the remaining circles in each color.

Once all the shells have been assembled, ask the children to carefully glue them onto the turtle’s back according to the pattern.
