Making snails from chestnuts is quite easy, you just need a little play dough or clay if you want to keep them longer.
This is a great exercise to practice fine motor skills.
You can even paint chestnuts, however we prefer their natural look.

How to make crafts from chestnut snails
What you need:
- two bulging eyes
- air dry clay
- Craft knife
- a chestnut
- black pencil
- hot glue
Step by step instructions
Shape a snail’s body with air dry clay.
Make a chestnut mold as shown in the picture.
Craft two snail antennae and attach them to the body.
Remove the chestnuts and let the clay dry completely.
Apply a small amount of hot glue to the inside of the mold.
Put the chestnuts in.
Glue two fake eyes to your face and then draw a smiling mouth with black eyeliner.
Done!
