How to make a Chinese dragon clothespin puppet

What you need:

our printable template (you can get it from our members area)
thicker printing paper (optional) – you can also laminate the puppets
wooden clothespins (best)
drag
glue
coloring supplies if you will be printing the black and white version

Step by step instructions

Print out the Chinese New Year activity sheet. We highly recommend printing on cardstock or laminating the puppet parts (after you’ve cut them out).

If you want to glue the puppet parts, you should use a glue gun (adults only) or glue dots instead of regular school glue.

If you print the black and white version, have your child color the Chinese dragons first.

After coloring the dragon, ask the children to cut out the puppet.

After cutting the puppet, they also need to cut along the mouth line.
