Have you ever made a real gingerbread house? They look amazing, smell amazing, but making them can be quite stressful. If you have young children, this ice cream gingerbread house may be a better alternative.
This Christmas craft can also be used as a decoration for your Christmas tree or as a cute keepsake if you add your child’s photo to it.
What you need:
You will need six craft sticks to create the frame for the gingerbread house.
Paint the craft sticks brown on both sides.
Let them sit for a while to let the paint dry.
Use a low temperature glue gun or white glue and glue the four sticks together to form a square frame.
Add two more to create the roof.
Have your child cut a triangle out of brown construction paper to fit the roof.
Apply glue to craft sticks or on the edges of paper triangles.
Glue the paper triangle to the back of the craft stick.
Cut a square from brown construction paper to fit the part of the house.
Glue the square of paper to the back of the gingerbread house.
It’s time to decorate. Let’s make snow. Children can paint directly on the house or can cut white paper.
Add snow to the roof.
Add colorful pom poms or paper to your home.
The more the merrier.
Cut a rectangle with rounded edges for the door and glue the doors to the house.
You can also add a knob (these work great for that).
Candy canes are always suitable for gingerbread houses and this season.
Draw one, cut it out and glue it to the house.
Why not two?
All done!
We’re so excited to see how festive this gingerbread house looks!
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
