When you go on a nature walk (or head to the dollar store), be sure to bring some rocks with you because we’re going to make a cute painted ladybug rock craft.
These cute little bugs would look great both indoors and outdoors, can you imagine them scattered around the garden?

Are you ready to make a swarm of ladybugs?
Cute Painted Ladybug Stone
What you need
- rock (quite obvious)
- red paint (acrylic is great)
- paintbrush (we like foam brushes)
- black marker or black paint
- wiggle eyes
Start by washing the rocks to remove any dirt that may be on them. Let them dry. Once dry, paint the rocks red, depending on the color you may need to paint the rocks with several coats of paint.
Once the paint is dry, draw a line down the middle of the rock with a black marker or paint. Color the head black (it would be easier with paint), we used a Sharpie for the details but it didn’t work for the head so we used a different marker (Stabilo). Draw 7 or more dots on the wings – these little bugs can have a lot of dots.
Glue two wiggle eyes on. Or you can paint them on.
If you will be displaying these lovely painted ladybug rocks outside, I recommend coating them with varnish.
