This fun camouflaged turkey paw project is suitable for both the family (a perfect family activity) and the classroom. Whether you’re making crafts at home or turning it into a classroom activity, having options that don’t require much preparation is a wise choice, especially for forgetful kids.

If you’re used to sending turkey disguise projects home, consider this project along with our mermaid turkey or snowman turkey for even more fun.

How to assemble a printable turkey-as-a-cat disguise template

What you need:

  • our printable template (you can get a free printable at the end of the tutorial, or you can get the entire 25+ disguises)
  • paper – regular printer paper is fine, heavier printer paper, cardstock is even better
  • color supplies
  • glue, scissors

Step-by-step instructions

There are plenty of printables included and we’ll show you how to use the template.

Print the sheet that says I’m not a turkey, I’m… Also, print the sheet with just the body of the turkey as well as the sheet with the cat’s camouflage parts.

Have your child color in the paper that says “I am not a turkey, I am” to make it look like a regular turkey.

With the remaining print, children will need to think about how they want to disguise themselves. We color the tail green to look like a bush and the body of the turkey orange like we would make a tabby.

Have children color the disguise parts.

Cut out the camouflage parts as well as the second turkey they colored.

Apply glue to the camouflage parts and stick them on the turkey.

Once you’re done disguising, take the first sheet of paper you colored and fold it along the dotted line.

Apply glue to the middle of the fold.

Glue it on the turkey disguised as a cat.

All done!

Now, this smart turkey can change his cat’s outfit at will.

You can also stick writing paper on your craft for a great classroom display.
