Disguise a Turkey as a Witch Printable Template

If your kids aren’t ready to escape the spooky season, you can take inspiration from past holidays to make this fun Thanksgiving craft. This turkey disguise as a witch print pattern allows your child to turn an ordinary turkey into a witch that doesn’t look too scary.

This is a great Thanksgiving writing activity along with one of the most fun books for the season: Türkiye Trouble.

Türkiye in camouflage prints is very interesting. Prepare a clever costume for the turkey to hide itself. Not long ago we shared a turkey mermaid and now it’s time for another fairy tale character to step up – a not-so-evil witch.

What’s super cool about this craft is that you can make it in such a way that you can camouflage the turkey on and off. Children will love this.

They can just use the turkey outline or a template with an “I’m not a turkey, I’m a…” text overlay, which works well with the accompanying writing prompt.

The first thing to do is color the samples. Color a turkey (page with text or page with a small rectangle above the turkey) using natural turkey color.

Next is disguise! First, the turkey needs to be “dressed.” Have your child color it according to the witch’s skin tones; Greens are great, but there are really no rules here.

And then add all the other parts. The nose is especially clever because it disguises the beak!

Now, get the undisguised turkey bed sheet. Fold it along the dashed line.

Apply glue just below the turkey’s belly.

And glue the camouflaged turkey on top, neatly aligned with the turkey in the back.

Pretty cool, right? Manually opens and closes to reveal the turkey behind the disguise!
