Geometric Icicle DIY Ornaments

Today I’m excited to share one of the crafts from my new eBook, Christmas Paper Crafts, with you, my sweet and fun readers.

This book is a collection of 12 fun and easy paper craft ideas, designed to print on regular colored paper (saving on ink costs!).

Does it snow on Christmas where you live? Where we live it is midsummer on Christmas.

The cicadas are singing, the sun is shining, and everyone is wearing shorts, T-shirts, or sleeveless summer dresses. We have no hope of seeing a truly white, cold Christmas unless we make our own! When I was a kid, I used to decorate the tree with cotton balls to try to make it look like snow (which it didn’t), but now I have a better idea.

This year we decided to add a touch of winter frost to our tree with the help of some geometric ice cubes. Create them in blue tones for a frosty look, brrrr! The template comes in two different sizes to give the ice cubes some variety.

How to Make DIY Geometric Icicle Ornaments

You will need• Light blue construction paper• Scissors• Glue• String and tape• Blunt butter knife and ruler for scoring• this template

How to do it1) Print out the template. Each page makes two ice cubes.

2) Use a butter knife and ruler to trace the dotted lines.

3) Cut around the black border.

4) Fold along each marked line.

5) Tie a piece of string into a loop and tape it so that it hangs down to one of the top points.

6) Apply a little glue to each edge and carefully fold into desired shape, gently pressing the popsicle stick firmly.

Now you can hang it on the tree!

You can find more fun Christmas paper crafts in our book.
