These are also great Halloween crafts for the classroom because they don’t require much preparation and are quick to make.

How to make Halloween pop-up cards

What you need:

  • our pop up card template
  • black or red cardboard
  • drag
  • glue
  • optional: coloring material

Step-by-step instructions

Print out templates (black or white or full color). Heavier cardstock or printer paper works best, but this craft works well on regular paper too, especially if you’re using cardstock as your background (black or red paper).

If you print black and white Halloween cards, let your child color them first.

Next cut out the template, following the outside of the rectangle.

With the vampire pop-up card, you will also need to cut out a set of fangs.

Fold the card in half, following the dotted line through the middle of the template.

You will notice a full line going through the mouth, use scissors to cut along that line.

There are two diagonal dashed lines close to the mouth line. Make folds along those two lines.

Open the two diagonal folds you just made. At the same time, open the card.

With the design facing you, push your finger through the “mouth” from the back of the design (one hand on top of the design and one hand on the bottom).

Continue pushing your finger through while also slowly closing the card (this time with the design on the inside). Set aside.

Take a piece of red paper (template size or larger) and fold it in half.

Take the pop-up card template, apply glue to one half and stick it inside the folded card.

Next apply glue to the remaining half…

And close the card, pressing firmly to make the glue secure.

Apply a small amount of glue to the canines and stick them to the designated area.

All has been done! The first of three Halloween pop-up card templates Your Halloween pop-up card template is complete.
