How to make our Halloween puppet model

What you need:

  • Our printable template
  • printer paper (heavier/cardboard is best)
  • coloring material if printing black and white model
  • drag
  • glue

Instructions step by step

Print out our templates. Print one or all, full color or black and white. In this tutorial we will show you how to make a witch from our black and white paper. Other puppets are assembled in the same way.

When working with black and white Halloween puppet templates, color them first. Any color supply will do the job, we color our samples with colored pencils.

Once all the pieces (except the two strips) have been colored, cut them out.

Let’s start making puppets. Make creases on all the dotted lines on the puppet.

Makes the folds nice and sharp.

Don’t forget the folds inside the mouth.

When you fold it into your mouth, the puppet’s features will line up.

Next apply glue to one of the four squares on the puppet with the word glue inside.

Bend the paper and glue the square at the end of the “jaw line”.

Repeat with all 3 remaining squares.

Looking from the other side, this is what you will see.

Next hold hands. Fold along the dotted line…

…apply glue to the folded part and stick the hand on the witch (lower part).

Do the same with the ears.

And finally the hat (minus the folded part).

Now the witch puppet looks cool, but it’s hard to hold in your hand… This is where the two strips of paper appear.

Take one of the paper strips and fold it at both ends. Apply glue to the folded parts.

And stick the arc-shaped strip of paper onto the puppet.

It will look like this, with just enough space for you to push your finger in.

Do the same with the remaining strip of paper.

Now we talk! Your Halloween puppet is ready to play.
