This is one of the easiest Easter craft ideas for kids and it’s suitable for kids of all ages. If you’re working with younger kids, you’ll need to do a little preparation as they may have difficulty with cutting but they’ll love the tearing part of this DIY project.
What you need:
Cut and prepare the base. We used green cardstock to make it look like the egg was hatching in the grass, but other colors are great too.
Continue, let your child take a piece of white paper and draw an egg shape on it.
After taking out the egg, ask them to carefully cut it open.
Now, draw the first shape on the yellow paper to create another egg shape of equal size
Apply glue to the yellow egg (or directly to the cardboard).
Glue the yellow egg onto the green base.
Apply glue to the edges of the yellow egg shape.
Ask them to place it on top of the yellow egg.
Now make a small cut (you do this for small children) in the middle of the egg.
Have your child use his fingers to gently tear off the eggshell, leaving behind torn pieces of paper.
The egg has cracked!
Have your child draw cute eyes on the egg with a black marker (or use googly eyes).
You can even add white dots inside (use a white ballpoint pen or white chalk marker).
Next, cut a small triangle from the orange paper to make the chick’s beak. You can also use an orange marker.
All has been done! You’ve successfully created an Easter chick craft.
Kids can personalize it by adding decorations or writing a sweet Easter message.
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
