We love crafts, but we love them even more when they have a purpose beyond the “crafting process.” We love when crafts are open-ended, educational, or (and our favorite) when they can be played with after they’re done.

That’s why we’ve put a lot of thought into creating these fun insect hand puppets (yes, there will be quite a few of them) that are not only fun to make, but also much more fun to play with once they’re finished.

We’ll start this series with a ladybug paper puppet, because this cute ladybug is one of our favorite insects anyway.

If you decide to color this version it is best to use thicker printer paper, especially if you will be coloring with markers as they will wet and wrinkle the paper.Svg%3E

The last thing you need to do is glue a small strap to the beetle’s belly. This strap will allow you to put your hand in and use the paper beetle like a hand puppet.
