Are you planning any summer crafts for the kids? This little crab craft is a great one to add to that list, and it’s so simple you can do it anywhere!

The last few days of school? Perfect because it doesn’t require much effort (or focus and patience). An activity to take on a family vacation? You can set it up in no time, so again perfect. A project for summer camp? This would make a great card to send to friends and family.

How to make a crab shaped paper circle craft

What you need:

  • red construction paper (or any other color you feel is appropriate)
  • blue paper for the base
  • black marker
  • two big round eyes
  • Paper hole punch with 2 sizes or 2 circles to trace around

Step by step instructions

Start by drawing circles.

If you have a circle punch, use it to punch out circles, otherwise find round objects of different sizes – like glass cups and jars, and draw around them.

You will need 1 large circle and 4 small circles.

Fold all the circles in half.

Glue the larger half circle onto the base paper (bottom half of the paper – in the middle).

Make the claws – glue two smaller folded circles on top of the large circle, forming a V shape.

Do the same with the remaining pair of circles.

Draw a set of legs with a black marker.

Draw a straight line from the claw to the body of the paper crab.

Glue two big round eyes (or draw eyes) on top of the crab’s body.

Use a black marker to draw a line from the eyes to the body.

Done! Your crab paper circle craft is complete.
