In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to make a penguin pop-up card using our template. It’s easy, simple, and fun!

How to make a penguin pop up card with our penguin pop up card template

What you need:

Step by step instructions

Print out a pop-up card template – you can choose a black and white template for kids to color first.

Or print out the pre-colored version and you’re ready to go!

Cut the card – cut along the outer contour (rectangle).

Fold in half, following the dotted lines on the card – the design should be on the outside.

Take scissors and cut along the line that runs across the penguin’s beak.

You will see two dashed diagonal lines along the beak – fold along those lines.

Makes the folds nice and sharp.

Open the card.

Push your finger inside the beak – from the back (side without design).

Slowly close the card (fold the card so that the design is on the inside).

Press down to create nice, crisp folds.

Get a “background card” – it needs to be the same size or larger than the popup card.

Apply glue to one half of the folded card and stick it onto the red card.

Apply glue to the remaining half of the card…

…and close the red card. Press down and wait for the glue to dry.

Done! Your penguin pop up card is ready!
