These little printable Easter rings are so cute that I’m still wearing them even as I write this tutorial!
Over the past few weeks we’ve created a lot of Easter projects that kids can make, but these rings might be my favorite!
You’ll find a set of 2 bunnies, a chick and an Easter egg – and they come in both coloured and black and white for kids to colour in themselves. While the pre-coloured ones are quick and easy, it’s the black and white versions that are the real magic. Fun vibrant colours? Yes please! A little glitter glue? Time to sparkle!
With Easter just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start planning your holiday-themed projects. As we started our ring series and as the holidays approach, we decided that the first set to share with you would be Easter-themed!
Decorate your finger with a blue bunny or a pink bunny – hopity hop. Do you prefer chicks a little more? We also have a paper chick ring, and since Easter is all about Easter eggs, we made sure to include that one too.
Not only do these rings come in two color versions (black and white and colored), they also come in two sizes to suit little ones and big kids.
We think these little guys would make great Easter basket decorations as well as a fun project to do in the classroom (preschoolers can master some of the shapes with no problem).
Did you like this Easter craft idea? Are you ready to learn how to make your own paper rings? Let’s do it!
What you need
We have prepared both a video tutorial and a picture with written instructions for this project, we recommend you go through both as some parts will be clearer on the video, while others will be clearer on the picture instructions.
Print out our templates (you can find them at the end of this tutorial). Print the black and white version, the colored version, or both.
We will show you how to make a pink bunny paper ring, but all rings are made the same way.
If you decide to print black and white versions, it’s best to color them before cutting them out.
Cut the paper ring template along the outer contour.
Once you have cut out the pink bunny, you need to cut a little more.
You will see a black line on the grey strip that connects the rabbit’s head – this line is next to the rabbit’s head on both ends. You will see this line on different sides of the strip on each end.
Cut along that line – it is extremely important to cut along that line – the cuts need to be on opposite sides of the strip.
It is best to watch this tutorial on video.
You need to slide the two cuts you made on the grey paper strip together – bend and form a circle on the grey paper strip and connect the two halves of the rabbit’s face.
When you slide them together, the bunny’s face should look complete (not lopsided).
If your bunny face (or any face for that matter) looks a little weird, open it up and cut a little more along those black lines.
Fold again.
Repeat with other loops.
Your printable Easter paper rings are finished and all that’s left is to gift them to someone or put them on your fingers.
