This is an easy, no-fuss project – you can print out the pre-colored frog and start playing right away, or print out the black and white craft template and let your kids color it themselves.

How to Make a Printable Frog Puppet

What you need:

  • handmade sample
  • paper
  • drag
  • glue
  • coloring supplies if printing black and white samples

Step by step instructions

Print out the frog puppet template. While this template works well on regular printer paper, we always recommend using thicker printer paper for puppets.

For black and white templates, color them before cutting. Your child can color them with markers, colored pencils, or crayons since all the spaces for coloring are quite large.

Cut out the outline of the puppet.

Also, cut two strips of paper.

Fold along the dotted lines on the pattern.

There are 3 lines in total – 2 lines next to the teeth and 1 line in the middle of the mouth.

Make the folds nice and crisp. Run your finger over each fold.

Bring the mouth lines closer together.

Fold along the dotted lines on the paper strip and apply glue to each end.

Glue strips of paper onto the puppet to make “handles”

That’s it! Your frog puppet is ready to play! We have a range of other fun puppets like this one (check out our unicorn puppet for example) that your child can make with this puppet and put on a show.
