Recycled Cup Turtle Craft

Recycled crafts are the best and you can easily make crafts with recycled turtle cups as having or working with children usually means that most of the time you will have a cup or two on hand .

Any cup will do – you can use a paper cup or a plastic cup, all of which will work well when transformed into a turtle shell.

How to make a turtle with paper cups

What you need:

  • printable template
  • paper cups or yogurt cups
  • bonding primer
  • acrylic paint (2 colors green)
  • paintbrush
  • marker pen (black, yellow and pink)
  • pencil
  • drag
  • adhesive
  • colored paper (blue and pink)
  • sharp eyes

Step-by-step instructions

Paint yogurt cups with bonding primer.

Go ahead and paint it green when dry.

Draw the turtle’s head and legs on green paper, then cut the pieces out.

You’ll want to draw a small flower on pink paper and take your time cutting it out.

Draw a small circle in the middle of the flower to give it character.

Stick the googly eyes on your head.

Take the time to draw the eyelashes above the sparkling eyes.

Draw a smiley face!

Paint the middle of the flower yellow and glue it to the top.

Draw small dots on the legs and head with a blue pen.

Continue drawing dots on the turtle’s flippers.

It may take some time, but we want to cover the turtle in dots.

Draw a hexagon on top of the cup.

Draw hexagons along the edge.

Paint them.

Make sure the paint covers the entire shape.

Use a black marker to draw around the shape.

Create a smaller version of the shape inside the hexagon.

Continue doing this until all the shapes are covered.

It’s time to glue the turtle shell to the turtle.

Press firmly to make sure it stays on.

The final image is of this unique sea creature ready to swim for hours with you!
