Making reindeer or doing Christmas Projects with reindeer always brings us a lot of joy and excitement.

Your child can try out their skills and learn how to draw Rudolph independently with our How to Draw a Deer guide. Color the deer’s nose red.

And what makes us even more excited is that today we came up with a way to hide our reindeer in a Christmas box and let it come out when we want.

You can use this small box as an ornament for your Christmas tree, or you can write a Christmas message on the back and give it to anyone you want.

So guys, if you’re planning to make a Christmas box with reindeer inside, let’s get started!

How to make a Rudolph reindeer gift

What you need:

  • red cover
  • pink cover (or pink paper)
  • brown cover
  • yarns
  • split battery
  • drag
  • glue
  • ruler
  • sharp eyes
  • pencil (and an eraser to erase pencil marks)
  • black marker
  • white marker
  • hot glue (+ hot glue gun)
  • round awl
  • compass

Step-by-step instructions

Gift box

On red cardboard, draw a 6 x 6 cm square (box) and a 7 x 2 cm rectangle (lid).

Cut them out with scissors.

Outline them with a black marker.

Glue the lid onto the box.

Movement mechanism

Take the circle hole punch and punch a circle (our punch is 3.8 cm in diameter) in the center of the box.

Take a compass and draw a circle with a diameter of 4.5 cm.

Cut out the circle with scissors.

Cover the box hole with the circle and connect them with the split pin on the left side.

Check that the mechanism works correctly – the circle should cover the entire hole and move freely.

Rudolph background

On pink cardboard, draw a rectangle measuring 5 x 6 cm.

Cut it out.

Glue this rectangle to the back of the box as shown. Leave the bottom part of this rectangle free of glue.

We will apply glue to it later; We need to put the reindeer in first.

Rudolph the reindeer

On brown paper, draw a reindeer head and reindeer body (in the form of a letter D).

Cut them out with scissors.

Just outline the head with a black marker and add a small dot for the mouth.

Cut a small red circle and glue it onto the reindeer for the nose.

Take the googly eyes and attach them to the reindeer’s head.

Glue the reindeer head onto the reindeer body as shown.

Glue the reindeer to the inside of the box.

Now apply some glue on the bottom part of the pink cardboard and glue the whole thing to the box.

Candy cane

On red cardstock, draw a picture of a Christmas candy cane and cut it out.

Draw white diagonal stripes on the candy cane.

Then outline the candy with a black marker.

Stick the candy cane to the front of the box, in the middle of the red circle.

Decorate gift boxes

Take a white marker and decorate the Christmas box with dots.

Take the yarn and make a small bow.

Glue the bow onto the lid using hot glue.

Wait a few seconds for the glue to set.

All has been done!
