Are you a fan of Shark Week? We think that, while we’re big fans of Shark Week ourselves, these sea creatures should be celebrated all year round.

After all, they are amazing (and somewhat terrifying) animals that have swum the seas since time immemorial.

Hand puppetry has been on our menu for a long time because it was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. I love all things pretend and playing out all sorts of scenarios with real puppets is the best.

I have made many different animals and creatures and while in my memory they look as wonderful and bright as this shark, I am pretty sure they look a little weird and I am pretty sure an outsider would never tell the difference between my cat and my monkey hand puppet. But that doesn’t matter. That doesn’t matter. What matters is the process, the fun and the making of memories (obviously I still remember them).

But let’s get back to the shark boat idea, shall we?

Just follow the simple instructions and you can make a shark paper craft in no time!

Or follow the step-by-step instructions below

Fold the paper in half about a third (it doesn’t have to be exact).

Fold carefully.

Step 1

Apply glue to the edge of the folded section.

Be generous.

Glue is the best choice in this case because it does not wet the paper.

Step 2

Fold the paper over from the other side, just enough to cover the glue.

Fold carefully.

Press down to set the glue.

Step 3

You will see a tunnel like the image below.

Step 4

Fold the paper tunnel in half.

Fold carefully.

Step 5

Take one half and fold it in half again.

Turn over and fold the other side.

Step 6

If you look from the side, you will see an M shape.

Cut the mouth out of the red paper.

The mouth should be thinner than the shark’s blue body.

The length of the red shape must be less than half the length of the blue paper.

Let’s decorate this hand puppet!

Place the blue paper on the white paper.

Track width.

Also mark the length (the length should be about half the length of the blue paper).

Now place the red mouth inside the outlined rectangle – almost in the center.

Use a pencil to draw again.

Now cut your teeth!

When cutting, keep the tooth between the rectangular outline (tooth tip) and the mouth shape (tooth root).

Make them look fierce.

Glue the tooth in the middle of the blue paper.

They should lie between the outer folds.

Stick the red mouth part on the teeth.
