Snake clothespin puppets make for super fun craft time. Sure, bunnies and bears are cute – but crafting with a snake is much more fun for kids!
These snakes are DIFFERENT from each other because it is important to note that there are dozens of species of snakes out there.
Snakes are fascinating creatures. You can use this craft as a way to introduce children to snakes and how fascinating they are. When it comes to clothespin puppets, the more the merrier, so be sure to add shark clothespin puppets, insect clothespin puppets, and more to the mix.
Read a few books about snakes and visit your local zoo to see where snakes might live. You’ll learn a lot about snakes along the way.
What you need:
Print out the Snake Clothespin Puppet template.
Take your time coloring and cutting out! Little hands may need help cutting out the snakes.
Cut inside the template as directed on the template. While it may take some skill to cut the mouthpiece, you can do it!
Take some glue and apply it to the clothespin. From there, you will glue the snake onto the clothespin.
Hold it tight to make sure it is really stuck. The clothespin mouth should separate when you open the clothespin.
Do this with both snakes so you can play with both of them. The coloring and cutting is the most time consuming part of this craft, but in no time they will be your very own slithering snakes to play with!
The final piece will be two snakes standing side by side. The snakes will be able to move their mouths. You or your child can give the snakes voices! They can sing and slither all day long.
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
