  • acrylic paint (green and white)
  • paint brush
  • white thread
  • White paper

Step by step instructions

Paint the paper plate green.

Cut out the fabric pattern.

Trace the spider’s body onto purple paper, then cut it out.

Draw the head shape on grey paper, then cut it out.

You will want to draw eyes on white paper and then cut them out.

Continue drawing the mouth shape on the red paper and cut it out.

Draw eight legs on black paper and cut them out.

Glue eyes and mouth to head.

Draw the inside of the eyes, eyebrows and a smiling mouth.

Use a black marker to draw stripes on the purple body.

Attach the legs.

Glue to the head.

Use white paint to draw a spider web on one corner of the paper plate.

Make two holes. The first hole will be near the spider web at the top of the paper plate.

The second hole will be at the bottom of the paper plate.

Take the yarn and pull it through the hole.

Pull the yarn down and through the hole in the bottom of the paper plate.

Attach the end of the yarn to the back of the paper plate and tie a knot.

Glue the spider to the yarn.

Drag the spider up and down – make sure it moves smoothly.

The finished product is this fun spider with lots of personality!

We love the look of this spider!
