Here’s a paper plate spider craft that kids will love!
We thought this would be a great Halloween activity for kids – and the spider can move up and down its web.

Spider crafts are great activities for young children as they help develop fine motor skills.
Plus, it’s really fun! So give it a try – your kids will love it.
How to make a spider paper plate craft
What you need:
- printable template
- paper plate
- pencil
- black marker
- drag
- glue
- acrylic paint (green and white)
- paint brush
- white thread
- White paper
- colored paper (red, black, purple and gray)
Step by step instructions
Paint the paper plate green.
Cut out the fabric pattern.
Trace the spider’s body onto purple paper, then cut it out.
Draw the head shape on grey paper, then cut it out.
You will want to draw eyes on white paper and then cut them out.
Continue drawing the mouth shape on the red paper and cut it out.
Draw eight legs on black paper and cut them out.
Glue eyes and mouth to head.
Draw the inside of the eyes, eyebrows and a smiling mouth.
Use a black marker to draw stripes on the purple body.
Attach the legs.
Glue to the head.
Use white paint to draw a spider web on one corner of the paper plate.
Make two holes. The first hole will be near the spider web at the top of the paper plate.
The second hole will be at the bottom of the paper plate.
Take the yarn and pull it through the hole.
Pull the yarn down and through the hole in the bottom of the paper plate.
Attach the end of the yarn to the back of the paper plate and tie a knot.
Glue the spider to the yarn.
Drag the spider up and down – make sure it moves smoothly.
The finished product is this fun spider with lots of personality!
