Lace Heart Paper Plate Craft
If you are working with younger children, you will need to cut out the heart shape and punch the holes, older children can do this themselves. You can also colour the paper plate pink or read before you start threading.
What you need
- paper plate
- paper
- hole punching machine
- pencil
- thread (red and white thread are very good)
- drag
Cut an 8 x 8 sheet of scrap paper, fold it in half and cut out a large heart along the fold.
Draw a heart shape on a plate and cut the shape about 1/4″ larger than the drawn line.
Punch holes along the trace line with a hole punch, about 1/2″ apart from each other.
Weave one end of the cord in and out of the holes until you reach the starting position and then tie the two ends together.
Then, thread a new piece of wire through the back of any hole and through the front of any top hole, through the back of the next hole, and repeat until the heart-shaped portion of the disc is filled to your liking.
