- printable template (optional)
- pencil
- drag
- glue
- markers (black, white, blue and red)
- paper roll
- White paper
- black paper
- colored paper (gray, orange, yellow, red, two blue)
Step-by-step instructions
Space shuttle
Cut a sheet of white paper as big as the roll.
Then you will take the white paper and wrap the roll by applying glue on top.
Nose cap
Draw the nose of the space shuttle on white paper and cut it out.
Draw the tip of the nose but make it a little shorter – so it’s not too high.
Cut a thin line from gray paper.
Glue the black nose onto the white nose.
Glue the gray strip onto the nose and cut off the excess.
The windows
Draw a semicircle for the shuttle window on the lighter blue paper.
Cut out a rectangle.
Cut it in half.
Wings
Draw a wing on white paper and cut it out.
It will be slightly shorter than the scroll.
Draw the wings on white paper and cut that part out.
Now we have two wings of the same size.
Wing detail
Draw around the wings with a black marker.
The fin
Draw the upper fin of the spacecraft.
Fin detail
Use a black marker and draw some details.
Draw three small windows on the nose of the space shuttle.
Glue the nose to the shuttle’s body.
You will also tape the windows onto the shuttle.
Fold and glue the wings.
You’ll want to glue both wings to the shuttle – one on each side.
Add the top wing to the shuttle by folding the longer part and adding glue to the folded part.
Detail
Start drawing details on the shuttle.
Draw a black line around the blue windows to help add detail.
Turbine
Cut a wider strip of black paper, cut two equal parts and roll each part into a tube.
Cut off the excess.
Now we have two turbine rolls.
Exhaust flame
Draw a flame on red paper, a smaller flame on orange paper, and the smallest flame on yellow paper.
Cut them out and glue them on top of each other.
Glue them to the turbine.
Logos
Paint the astronaut logo on realistic wings.
Shiny effect
Draw a streak of light on the window with a white marker to create a shiny effect.
Make sure the turbines are glued nice and tight!
Small window
Cut small rectangles from red and blue paper.
Stick them on the shuttle.
Congratulations! Your spaceship is complete!
