Wood slices can be turned into adorable DIY Christmas decorations – today we’ll show you how to make a snowman ornament using wood slices.
The shape of a piece of wood simply needs to be shaped into a snowman, and it’s one of the easiest things you can make. This makes it a great Christmas craft to do in the classroom.
There’s nothing quite like making your own Christmas decorations (and making your own Christmas cards is just as much fun).
This can be a great family Christmas tradition, with each family member making their own unique ornament each year. Think about how amazing your tree will look in a few years, and more importantly, how many memories will be made while making it.
If you want to make something simple that is almost guaranteed to turn out well (and isn’t expensive or time-consuming) – wood slice decorations are the way to go.
What you need:
Store-bought wood slices usually come pre-drilled.
If you’re making your own cake slices, drill a hole first (or glue string to the ornament for an easy solution).
Depending on the type of paint, more than one coat may be required.
Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
You can keep it “classic” with two dots for eyes and some smaller dots for mouths or you can create other fun faces.
Draw a pink circle on both cheeks. Cute right?
Almost done! Draw a triangle with an orange marker or paint pen – this will form the carrot’s nose.
