Snowman Windsock Toilet Paper Roll Craft

We’re taking recycled toilet roll crafts to the next level with this awesome Windsock Snowman Toilet Roll Craft – it doesn’t get any cuter than this.

This is a great way to use up toilet paper rolls, if for some reason you can’t use them, making paper rolls from cardboard is just as fun.

We always have a stash of toilet paper rolls on hand and are thinking of fun new ways to use them.

Crafts made from regular toilet rolls are definitely fun, but we wanted to take it a step further and make them look amazing – and I think we’ve achieved this with our new range of toilet roll winders (we have lots of ideas that we’ll be sharing with you soon).

How to Make a Windsock Snowman Toilet Paper Roll Craft

What you need:

  • one or two rolls of toilet paper (or use kitchen paper rolls or craft paper rolled into paper rolls)
  • white paint
  • Tissue paper or other thin paper (old napkins are best if you want to make this recycled craft or new paper)
  • drag
  • paint brush
  • glue
  • black marker
  • button (optional)
  • orange construction paper (optional)
  • single hole punching machine
  • thread to hang

Step by step instructions

Start by painting the roll with white paint. It may take more than one coat.

Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step. I

Once the paint is completely dry, punch two holes in one side of the paper roll.

The holes should be opposite each other (so if you look through one hole, you should see the other hole – roughly speaking)

Thread the yarn through the holes (you can do the same at the end too).

Thread it through both holes…

Knot.

Cut a carrot shaped nose out of orange cardstock (or you can also paint the nose with orange paint or draw it on with an orange marker).

Stick it right above the middle of the roll (the thread is on top).

Use a black marker to draw eyes and mouth.

A beautiful snowman needs a beautiful set of buttons. We use real buttons and glue them, we can use other materials or we can also paint buttons on the snowman.

Cut long thin strips of paper. For the snowman, we choose two colors, white and light blue.

Glue them inside, one at a time, until you’ve glued all the way around.

Hang the Windsock snowman toilet paper roll for display.

Happy crafting!
