We love making our own Christmas cards, but we like to keep them easy to make – making a lot of them can be quite a chore if they aren’t easy. This card has a little bit of colouring in it, but it’s a fun experience – for you or your kids.
There are a few color combinations you can do, we think blue and green for the plants and pink and red for the background would look great.

Step by step instructions
If you don’t have white card stock, it’s super easy to make your own basic card stock. Take a piece of a4/letter sized craft paper in the color of your choice and fold it in half.
Cut along the fold.
Take one of the halves and fold it in half. This will create a card base (make another card base from the other half if you like).
Place the folded card on top of the white cardboard and use it as a template to cut out a white rectangle.
Trim the white rectangle a little so that it is smaller than the card. This will give your card a nice colored edge.
Use a black marker to draw a rectangle inside the white rectangle.
If you have a dark black marker, use it to draw a tree – keep it simple, draw a triangle and a small rectangle underneath.
Now draw random horizontal lines across the rectangle.
You can also add some circles. We used the glue cap as a circle template.
Apply glue to the back of the white rectangle and stick it to the card.
Next comes the coloring. We color the inside shapes of the tree with different shades of green and blue-green. We color the outside with different shades of purple.
There are no rules here.
Last but not least, add a special note inside the card.
And there you have it, your Geometric Abstract Colorful DIY Christmas Card is done.
Now just put it in an envelope and give it to someone wonderful.
