We’ve got a step-by-step guide to drawing a seashell, but you can also get the kids to use the handy template that just requires coloring.
Fun and easy!
What you need:
Start with a sheet of paper. Art paper (artwork or drawing board) is the best choice, but you can also make the project using regular paper.
Paint the paper blue watercolor to create a sea-inspired background.
You can use many other materials or techniques here to create a blue background.
Let it dry completely.
Print out the seashell template or use another sheet of paper and let your child draw a seashell.
Start by drawing a large spiral with a pencil.
Use a black marker to draw a scalloped line along the pencil line.
Draw curved lines inside the shell.
Erase the pencil lines.
Take pastels or crayons and color around the lines (press firmly down).
Color the segments with a lighter color (or press the crayon/chalk lighter as you color).
If you use pastel pastels, you can blend the two colors by smudging them.
Carefully cut colorful seashells.
Paste the seashells onto the watercolor background.
Now that this is done, why don’t you try making other seashell shapes?
Perfect summer art idea for kids!
