So you’ve made some delicious cupcakes but still have some cupcake molds (green) left over? Let your kids make this cupcake mold Christmas tree craft.
This is a fun project, just add some string and you have a beautiful DIY Christmas tree ornament.

The wavy edges of the baking paper add to the look of this craft, however if you want to go for a more “green” craft, you can use old newspapers or flyers and cut them into circles.
Paint them green and you’re ready to go.
What you need:
You will need 3 parchment paper molds (or 2 if you are using regular craft sticks).
Start by folding one of your cupcake liners in half and pressing it flat.
All of the following steps are “rough estimates”. You do not need to fold the lining exactly as we did.
Take one corner of the folded cupcake liner (the right corner in this case) and pull it down to the center (roughly).
Move your finger across the crease.
Open and apply glue.
Fold again.
Press down to set the glue.
Repeat with another sheet of parchment paper.
With the third sheet, do the same but also fold the left corner to the middle.
Open both and apply glue, fold both back again.
This is the smallest of the three cupcake liner triangles and will serve as the top of the mini Christmas tree.
Use a craft stick and apply glue to the top half (where the cupcake liners will go).
Starting at the bottom, glue one of the larger triangles onto the craft stick.
Next, glue another large piece on top of the first piece.
Finnish means smallest.
Cut a star from yellow or gold paper and glue it to the top.
To make your tree look festive, add some decorations.
We think pom poms work great.
If you want to turn this cupcake liner craft into a decoration, glue yarn to hang on the back (secure with tape).
You can also add cupcake liners to the back so the decorations can look good from both sides.
