Winter is the best time to make some polar animal crafts. Today we are going to show you a fun winter craft idea that you can do with your kids.

This is a great activity for mom and me / dad and me – as you can use your fingerprints for the wings and your child’s fingerprints for the legs.

How to make simple penguin handprints with paper

What you need:

  • paper of different colors
  • pencil
  • drag
  • glue
  • optional: googly eyes

Step by step instructions

Start by cutting out the penguin body shape (don’t know how? just cut out a figure 8 and cut around it – leaving a little space in the “neck area”) from black paper.

Other colors work well too.

Cut a smaller penguin shape from white paper and cut a small V shape at the top.

Apply glue to the black shape…

…and paste the white shape in.

Next, cut a triangle (or double triangle) out of orange paper and glue it onto the penguin’s face.

Additionally, glue on two fake eyes or draw on eyes with a marker.

Draw around your hand and cut along the outline.

Two black hands outline for the penguin’s wings and two orange hands outline for the penguin’s legs.

Put your fingerprints on your body.

And that’s it, your simple paper penguin craft is done.
