Step by step instructions

Body

Paint 3 rolls of paper. Any color will do.

Step 1

Cut out the stripes because we are making a striped cat.

Step 2

Use scissors to cut 4 holes in the paper roll to make legs.

Leave an equal distance between them.

Step 3

Apply a little glue to the stripes and stick them to the paper roll.

Step 4

Cut two long pieces of yarn and thread them through the holes.

Step 5

Now cut two more holes in the middle of the body, opposite the legs.

Step 6

Thread a long piece of yarn through them.

Step 7

Head

Take another roll of toilet paper and cut it 1/3 of the way down.

The larger piece will act as the head.

Step 8

We will use the smaller part later.

Step 8-1

Punch two holes in the middle of the toilet paper roll on top.

Step 9

Now measure the amount of space you want to leave between the body and head and tie a knot.

Step 10

Place the head in (thread the yarn through the holes).

Step 11Marionette Hand Controller

Wrap two cotton swabs around the wooden stick and cut off the excess.

Step 12

Repeat this step one more time so that you have two equal wooden sticks wrapped with cotton swabs.

Step 12-1

Make an X shape and use the 5th cotton swab to secure them in the middle.

Step 13

Pull the cat straight up and make sure the yarn on both sides is the same length.

Step 14-0

Apply a little glue to one side of the X and glue the yarn in.

Step 15

Eye

Draw two cat eyes and color them with colored pencils.

We use green.

Step 16

Eyes on the head.

Step 17

Ears

Cut the third roll of paper and flatten it.

Step 18-0

Draw cat ears and cut them out.

Step 19

Glue the ears to the head as shown.

Step 20

Cut two smaller ears from colored paper…

Step 21

…and glue them onto the larger ears as shown.

Step 21-1

Nose

Draw and cut out a small cat nose. Color it with colored pencils. We used gray pencils.

Step 22

Put your nose on your face.

Step 23

Mustache

Take a strip of velvet fabric and cut it into 6 equal pieces.

Step 24

Glue the pieces around the nose.

That is the mustache.

Step 25

Foot

Take the cork and divide it into 4 equal parts.

Step 26

Color the parts with acrylic paint and set aside to dry.

The cork circles will act as the feet.

Step 27

Place 4 cork loops in (thread them through the yarn), then make the legs equal in length.

Step 28

Tie 4 strong knots. Trim off excess thread.

Step 29

Tail

From the leftover paper used for the ears, we cut out a tail and glued it to the cat’s body.

Step 30

Cut off extra stripes and glue them to the tail.

Step 31

Tongue

You can cut a small tongue from the remaining toilet paper roll if you like and tape it to the inside of the end of the toilet paper roll.

Step 32

We’re done here!

Now start moving the wooden sticks up and down, left and right and watch how silly and lazy your cat becomes.
