We love sharing Halloween craft ideas because this is the season where you can really get creative with all sorts of super fun crafts and activities.

Making monsters and vampires is fun, but bats are a fun part too!

We love doing paper balloon strip projects (have you seen our paper cat?) and these little bat balloons would make the most amazing DIY Halloween wreath at your home or as a classroom craft project.

Are you ready to do it yourself?

Let’s start crafting!

How to Make Paper Crafts/Halloween Wreaths

What you need:

  • black paper – we use regular black printing paper
  • scissors (and/or paper cutter)
  • glue
  • Wiggle eye patches / wiggle eyes (or white paper and black marker)

If you are making this craft for class, we highly recommend using a paper cutter as you will have a lot of paper strips in no time.

Or follow the step-by-step instructions below

Cut strips of paper. You will need 4 strips for each bat.

We cut them to the width of a regular sheet of paper (letter/A4 size) and they are about a “finger” wide.

No need for exact measures.

To make this easier, gently fold the paper strips in half.

Glue two strips of paper together at right angles (forming a cross).

Glue the remaining two strips of paper on top of the first two. Spread them evenly (it looks like snowflakes).

Next, glue the paper strips together at the top…

All of them.

Draw wings on black paper (we fold the paper in half, so we cut two wings at once).

Cut them out.

Fold at the end.

Apply glue to the fold and glue to the small black paper ball you made.

Wear two fake eyes or vibrating eye patches.

Woohoo! You just made a paper ball craft. Now make some more and decorate your room!
