Santa Claus would not be complete without Mrs. Claus. A lively snowman is also a must.

We also had a gingerbread man and an elf who was happy to wrap all the Christmas gifts.

How to make printable Christmas puppets

What you need:

  • Our printable template
  • coloring material (optional)
  • drag
  • glue

Step-by-step instructions

We used regular printer paper to make these puppets; however, you can also use cardboard as this will make the puppet more durable.

Have children color the puppets.

Tip: if using regular printer paper, avoid using markers as they will wet and wrinkle the paper.

Cut out the puppet – along the dashed lines.

Don’t forget to cut out Santa’s mustache and the two strips of paper needed to make the puppet.

Next is the urgent matter. There are three dotted lines inside the mouth of Santa Claus and other puppets.

Make folds along all those lines. After folding, Santa’s mouth will close.

Glue on Santa’s nose! Most of the puppets don’t have extra details, but Santa and Gnome have mustaches that needed to be added (and that makes the puppets look super cool).

We are almost done! Make handles for these printable Christmas puppets. Make folds along the dotted lines on both strips of paper.

Apply glue to the designated area and glue the paper strip handle to the back of the puppet.

One goes to the top (back of the puppet) – create an arch when you glue the handle.

And the other one goes to the bottom.

Let the glue dry and your puppet is ready to go.
