It’s great to be able to make your own accessories or make your own jewelry to give to friends – and these colorful Perler bead bracelets are sure to be a favorite.
If you’re having a sleepover for your kids, why not include this activity (with parental supervision of course, as ironing is required).
Stylish, right?
You will need:
Choose the colors you will use for your bracelet. Using bead tweezers, carefully pick up each bead and place them on the pegboard.
We are making a beaded bracelet that is 29 beads long and 3 beads wide.
Create a pattern that you like – change different colors, make random colors, use 2 or 10 – whatever you like.
Once you are happy with the pattern, carefully place a sheet of ironing paper over the beads and iron for a few seconds (check the instructions that came with the beads) or until you see the beads start to stick together.
Take out the iron. Now carefully pull the paper off the board (be careful as it will be hot) and peel the seeds off the paper – immediately press them around the glass jar, don’t let them cool.
Once the beads have cooled enough (but are still warm) to touch, remove the bracelet from the jar and place the ends on top of each other and hold until completely cool (see image below).
Once completely cool, your homemade Perler bead bracelet is ready to wear.
