Finally, it’s time for some winter crafts. We’ve been waiting for this snow for a while.

One of our favorite winter activities is making snowmen – and not the regular snowmen you see everywhere, but snowmen exactly like the ones you see in pictures.

If you want your child to learn how to draw a snowman on their own, check out our easy tutorial.

Yes! We make standing snowmen with our hands (among others).

Until now, we never thought of making a standing snowman out of paper and sharing this joy with you.

And today, we are extremely excited – this idea flashed in our minds and we started making it right away.

We’ve added a card section below the snowman so you can wish your best friends or loved ones a happy new year.

We bet you will join us in this project and hope it will bring you joy and happiness.

Let’s go!

How to make a snowman paper card

What you need:

  • drag
  • black marker
  • light blue cardboard
  • white paper and white cardboard
  • brown cardboard
  • black cardboard
  • orange cardboard
  • glue
  • a compass
  • circular ruler

Step by step instructions

A card

Take the blue cardboard and fold it in half.

Use a compass to draw a nearly perfect circle (5 cm in diameter).

Leave the folded part of the card, then draw a circle starting from the folded part down and around.

See image for instructions.

Use scissors to cut out a circle.

This circle will act as the card base. It will open and close like a regular card.

Use a compass to draw a circle (4 cm in diameter) on white cardboard.

Cut out this circle.

Then glue it inside the card as shown.

Write “New Year Wishes” inside the card, then close the card and put it aside.

Snowman

Now take a compass and draw three circles (2.5 cm in diameter, 2 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm in diameter).

Cut out the circles.

Glue the circles together to form the body of the snowman.

Draw some black dots/circles as shown in the picture.

The dots/circles that form the mouth should be smaller than the dots/circles used as buttons on the body.

Cut an orange “carrot nose” and glue it onto the snowman’s face above the mouth.

Draw and cut out two eyes.

Stick them on top of your nose.

Now draw and cut out two black shoes, a black hat and two brown branches.

Use black cardboard to make the hat and shoes, and use brown cardboard to make the tree branches.

Glue the hat on the snowman’s head, then glue the shoes on the snowman’s feet.

Cut out a small black rectangle and fold it in half.

Glue part of this rectangle to the snowman’s hat.

Glue the rest of this rectangle to the blue cardboard – our snowman is now standing on his hat.

Now take the branch and glue the palm part to the blue cardboard, then glue the armpit part to the snowman’s body.

Now we have a snowman standing on hands.

All has been done!

Yippee cheers! We love this cute and cuddly snowman.

How about you?

Send us your snowman versions – we’d love to see them!

Stay tuned for more winter crafts!
